Three Alleged Drug Peddlers Arrested in Jammu Region
Police in Jammu region have apprehended three alleged drug peddlers, including a woman, in separate operations in Reasi and Udhampur districts. The operations resulted in the recovery of over 19 grams of heroin from their possession.
- Reasi District Operation:
A woman identified as Kamlesh of Pouni was apprehended during naka checking at Masjid Chowk, Katra, while travelling in a Smart City Bus.
- Heroin Recovery: Around 3.1 grams of heroin concealed in her hair was recovered during a search conducted by lady police personnel.
- Criminal Case: A case under FIR number 180/2026 was registered against the accused at Police Station Katra under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
- Udhampur District Operation:
A team of Police Post Tikri intercepted a vehicle at Tikri Naka on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and recovered 16.01 grams of heroin from two occupants.
- Accused Identification: The accused were identified as Rohit Koul and Pankaj Sharma, both residents of Jagti Colony, Nagrota, Jammu.
- Arrest and Seizure: The duo was arrested on the spot, and the contraband was seized.
- Criminal Case: They were accordingly booked in case FIR number 139/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rehambal.
