Madhya Pradesh Government Announces Higher Compensation for Land Acquired for Infrastructure Projects

The Madhya Pradesh government has taken a significant step to boost the state's developmental projects by approving higher compensation amounts for agricultural land acquired for critical infrastructure projects.

Increased Compensation to Accelerate Developmental Projects

State Minister Narendra Shivaji Patel stated that the increased compensation will accelerate the pace of developmental projects and significantly improve the economic condition of farming families who give their land.

  • Agricultural Land Acquired for: Irrigation schemes, roads, bridges, railways, and dam construction
  • Approved Compensation: Under the Madhya Pradesh Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2015

Recommendation Based on State and Industry Feedback

A sub-committee of state ministers submitted a recommendation for higher compensation after studying policies of other states and consulting farmer organisations and industry bodies, including the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India.

Shelter Homes for Medical College Attendants

The Cabinet also approved the construction of shelter homes for attendants at medical colleges and district hospitals, providing accommodation and meals at affordable rates.

  • Benefits: Extend to medical colleges under construction, providing a comfortable place to stay for families accompanying patients from distant regions
  • Strains Reduced: Sanitation and hygiene systems will no longer be strained due to sleeping arrangements within the hospital campus

Government's Plans for Advanced Medical Facilities

The government has earmarked approximately ₹2,000 crore over the next five years to develop advanced medical facilities, including Cath Labs and organ transplant units across medical colleges.
