The minister inspected various bordering areas to ensure that the fencing process is carried out as promised by the BJP before assuming power in the state.

Land Acquisition Issues

  • However, local residents in Basirhat are refusing to relocate due to issues with the distribution of compensation.

According to Kirtania, the cabinet has approved the transfer of about 600 acres of land to the BSF.

Residents' Concerns

Residents of the Basirhat area have expressed concerns over the distribution of compensation, stating that some individuals are receiving lakhs while others are only getting thousands.
