CPCL Project Compensation and Rehabilitation Assistance

Nagapattinam Collector P. Akash has announced that compensation and rehabilitation assistance are being provided to eligible individuals affected by the land acquisition for the Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) project in Panangudi, Gopurajapuram, and Narimanam villages in the district.

Compensation and Rehabilitation Assistance Details

  • Administrative Sanction: Accorded under G.O. Ms. No. 52, Industries (MIA-1) Department, dated January 31, 2019, for the acquisition of 247.78.15 hectares of land under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act, 2013.
  • Land Acquisition: The land was acquired through land acquisition proceedings and direct negotiations with landowners.
  • Disbursed Compensation: Compensation for the acquired land has already been disbursed to landowners.

Eligible Beneficiaries

Rehabilitation and resettlement compensation is being provided, based on recommendations of the district-level committee, to eligible persons including:

  • Landowners
  • Cultivators
  • Tenants
  • Landless agricultural labourers
  • Persons who had parted with less than one acre of land through direct negotiations

Compensation Disbursement Details

Eligible beneficiaries will receive compensation directly in their bank accounts through the ECS mode. Applicants found ineligible will be informed of the reasons for rejection through individual communication.

Compensation is being disbursed in accordance with G.O. Ms. No. 159, Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce (MIA-1) Department, dated October 25, 2025.
