Real estate-focused investment firm WSB Partners has invested ₹75 crore in Omaxe Limited for residential plotted development projects in Ujjain and Indore, marking the firm’s entry into Tier II markets.
The funding will support plotted residential projects in the two Madhya Pradesh cities, which the companies said are witnessing demand growth amid ongoing infrastructure development and improving connectivity.
According to the statement, the capital will be used primarily as growth capital, with a portion earmarked for working capital and reserves.
The investment was made alongside affiliates and co-investors of WSB Partners. The firm said the transaction aligns with its strategy of partnering with established developers in Tier II and III cities, where institutional investors are increasingly exploring opportunities due to rising incomes, affordability, and infrastructure-led expansion.
Omaxe, a listed real estate developer with projects across residential, commercial, retail and township segments, said the funding would support its expansion plans in markets showing sustained housing demand.
Rahul Rajendran, Principal – Investments at WSB Partners, said the company sees growing opportunities in Tier II and III cities backed by infrastructure development and affordability trends. He added that the firm is evaluating additional transactions with Omaxe in similar markets.
Mohit Goel, Managing Director of Omaxe, said the investment would provide financial flexibility for future growth while supporting expansion in cities where housing demand remains steady.
WSB Partners said it has committed around ₹4,000 crore across more than 75 real estate investments since 2013.
